As a little girl I had few toys, but some of my best memories are that of my wooden rocking horse. I've always wanted one for my kids, imagining how much fun it would be for them. Our small living quarters made that next to impossible though, there is only room for so much large kids toys. Enter Tori, the Plan Toys folding rocking horse. Whoever designed it is genius!
The Tori rocking horse is rather compact even when unfolded, but it only takes a few seconds to have it folded down to stow away seamlessly under a bed. Kids can't fold it themselves, so it's safe to leave them to play with it. It is made of Eco-friendly Rubberwood, like so many of the Plan Toys products. Latex is harvested from Rubberwood, and when the tree's latex producing cycle is over it is discarded. It's great that Plan Toys can use this material to make toys instead!
Almost four year old Baby E loves riding Tori, she plays with it at least once a day and usually more often than that. Her little brother Baby T is only one year old, so he is too small to rise it alone or to really enjoy it, but it looks like in about a year it will be 'his' toy. The Tori rocking horse is recommended for ages 2 and up.

We love the simple design that looks equally great in the living room and it does in the kids room. This classic piece has a non-toxic finish that is safe for kids, doesn't emit any toxic smells, and is splinter-free. This is a very durable toy that I suspect will last for generations. It can be easily and compactly stored when the kids outgrow it and before you know it, grandchildren will be having fun with it. ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful toy. I love wooden toys and rocking horses. While we do currently have room for a full sized rocking horse, we don't own the house we live in so you never know when we may have to downsize. The foldability may come in handy down the road.

Your kids are adorable but I got a bit nervous when I saw where the little girls hands were. Seems like she could get them smashed under the horse rocker. Ouch!

ReplyDeleteI also love the simple but genius design! We live in a small home and have a 1 yr old grand daughter living with us (and her mommmy too...they share a room). Space is golden here so this would be a toy that would not take up a lot of room, be carried from room to room or travel. I am such a lover of wooden toys and this company has so many neat ones. I adore the dollhouse items and the play food, but the big kitchen items are so amazing and colorful. I dabbled in making some simple furniture and love the idea of making kid's toys, but don't have the tools. I'd recommend this company to parents out there or for people to gift...sight unseen. These are the toys you hand down for generations and they dont need batteries to keep em' going. Imagination...is FREE and yet worth so much!

ReplyDeleteThe fact that it folds flat is the best. I have a huge, honkin' vintage spring horse in my daughter's "cowgirl" bedroom right now, and it takes up an unbelievable amount of floor space.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a very sturdy toy. I appreciate that it is made of beautiful wood and not colored pink or blue or splashed with licensed characters. Much easier to develop my kids' imagination and sharing amongst siblings.
