Two years ago we lost Baby E's sippy cup at an air show with thousands of people in attendance. Since then we've lived without one and she graduated to an 'adult' reusable stainless bottle with a straw. Now that Baby T is interested in drinking on his own, I really needed something for him. I saw the Innobaby kids stainless drinking cup and thought it was perfect. We were sent the 12 oz cup in blue alligator planet print for review.
We had plenty of time to test it out and even took it on our road trip to Washington D.C.! I love this particular size because for a walk around the neighborhood it is big enough for both my kids to drink out of (so I don't need to stuff two bottles into the stroller plus my own), and for longer day trips (zoo, beach, museum, etc) it is big enough for Baby T alone with no need for refilling.
We love that this cup is leak proof when closed. I can just toss it in the diaper bag and not worry about anything getting wet. However, word of warning, it does not have a leak proof valve for when it is open - like some sippy cups do. The opening will have the water free flowing into your child's mouth. So it may not be a good idea to give it to a curious young child unsupervised, it can easily be all poured out. It may also be used with a supplied silicone straw, which my toddler loves. I also love that the top just snaps on and you don't have to twist it. I can never get those screw on tops straight! We have only used it with water, so it is always easy to clean. But no matter what you put in it, it's very simple to wash, to take apart and to put it together. Here is the breakdown:
Overall I highly recommend it to be used independently for kids one year old and up, or with supervision if they are younger. With my 6 month old, I obviously have to help him out to use it. My 3.5 year old can use it completely independently, it's perfect for that age. As with children of all ages, they like to drop and throw things, and it looks like this Innobaby stainless cup is designed well to withstand that, the plastic sleeve protects the cup from dents and after a couple of drops so far it hasn't cracked or showed signs of any damage. It's also great to protect little hands from cold liquids and to keep the temperature of the drink longer. I did actually discover that one of the hinges on the lid cracked, I didn't know how it happened but I suspect that it was a curious little nephew that sneaked it our of my diaper bag and started twisting the hinges. We were promptly sent a replacement lid and assured that this happens very rarely - if not the only time it happened.
We love the simple design and the available colors. We picked the blue planet alligator one, but I also love the gender neutral orange and green, and for princesses there is always pink! They also have matching stainless bento boxes. Innobaby has a variety of smart baby products, I am also a fan of the glass food storage containers.

This looks like a nice product. My four year old is always spilling her drinks so this might be helpful. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks great. I bet it keeps the liquid cooler a lot longer than the typical one that is all plastic.
ReplyDeletelove this! my son is starting to need a cup like this! looks like it would keep the liquid really cold!
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a great item for someone that is beyond the sippy cup, but still has spill issues. And I love that it is leak-proof when closed!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is quite the fancy cup! My son is just crazy about sippy cups, so I'm sure he would like this one!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try Keepin' Fresh Kids Stainless Bento.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a neat product. I love stainless cups!
ReplyDeleteWe never have enough cups like these in our house, i like how its got protective sleeve.
ReplyDeleteI love that this is so easy to clean and take apart! Great that it is not leak proof
ReplyDeleteLooks really good. Also, if you are ever wondering how to get straws cleaner, a little soap on a pipe cleaner works great!
ReplyDeleteI love that it's stainless and easy to clean! I hate the plastic cups.
ReplyDeleteI love the protective sleeve! My stainless steel drinking bottle always has condensation, which gets everything else in the diaper bag wet, even if it doesn't leak.
ReplyDeleteI could use these for camping when it's hot or when I take my children fishing. I normally hate sippy cups because they're so hard to wash and I like that they're stainless steal the best. It tends to not hold odor.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! I think my little one would love this because he likes to use things that aren't so obviously a sippy cup, this looks enough like a big boy cup for him! <3
ReplyDeletei love the locking mechanism on the lid it looks really tight and secure! i love the print!
ReplyDeleteI love that there is no plastic touching the drink and that everything is sealed with silicone
ReplyDeleteLove this cup! Leakproof...sweet!
ReplyDeleteIts good to know you can throw it in your diaper bag without worrying about it leaking.
ReplyDeleteI love stainless steel cups and water bottles. I'll have to keep this item in mind for when my baby is older.

It's nice to see a stainless steel option for little ones. My DS is too young for this yet but I'm glad to see this is out there and I'll know for when it's time for him to use a sippy cup.
ReplyDeleteI like that you can just take off the top to use it as a regular cup as your child grows.
ReplyDeleteI have a 4.5 month old, so I still have a few months before we really start using sippy cups, but its good to always start reviewing products before you need them! I like anything with stainless steel - it doesn't leave the same metal taste the way other materials do.
ReplyDeleteIt has a really cool design and features. I like it that kids can use it for a long time. Saves money!

I've had my eye on the cute Innobaby products for a while. Thanks for giving it an honest review! Might have to try it now ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad it can withstand a beating..I'm wondering though how easy the snap on lid is to open..can a toddler unhook it and dump?
ReplyDeleteI don't think every toddler would be able to do it, but an extra curious one would :)
Deletewhat a cute cup! I love it! I love the design and colors!
ReplyDeleteLeakproof....you can never have too many leakproof cups!
ReplyDeletei love that it is eco friendly and cute! most of the stainless sippies are pretty plain, but not this one :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cool design and the fact that kids can use it for a longer time than usual!
ReplyDeleteI love how it is eco friendly without being too plain.
ReplyDeleteWish this was available when my kids were little.
ReplyDeleteI never even thought of using a steel baby cup. Very cute looking too!
