Our mission here at Eco-Babyz is to help you raise a healthy family. It gets increasingly hard to do that being bombarded with toxic chemicals in nearly everything we eat and buy! I rely on EWG for a lot of decisions when it comes to what we buy. They just released the 2012 Shopper's Guide, the updated list on the 12 dirtiest produce items and 15 cleanest ones in terms of toxic pesticide residues.
This is a must have every time you go food shopping! Not all of us can afford all organic produce, EWG helps you make a good decision on reducing pesticide exposure and saving you money by telling you what produce is okay to buy non-organic! I pretty much have most of these memorized after using it for a while, but they do also have a handy PDF or an app for your smart phone which you can get free just by signing up for their newsletter. Sure glad to have an organization like EWG behind our back considering the government doesn't think it is important to inform the consumer on what is safe to eat and what isn't.

I just recently discovered the truth about apples! I used to look at it as well I can't afford to buy organic, so this is what I can afford. I now spend the extra to buy the organic apples for my family, & thanks to this list I will be able to make a better decision on what to buy organic & what I can save money on.

ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome!
DeleteInteresting list. We try to buy all organic in our household, especially when it comes to fruits and veggies. But as you said, it can be pricey. I will definitely be taking this list with me to the market next time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this information.
