Attending a baby shower any time soon? Perhaps for someone who isn't quite ready for cloth diapers? Unique baby shower gifts are hard to find these days and it seems that many registry items that I received I barely used with my first baby. How about a diaper cake that's not exactly 'fluffy' but uses chlorine free diapers? I was contacted by Diaper Cakewalk and we were sent a 3 tier EcoFriendly Diaper Cake for review.
Materials: The EcoFriendly Diaper Cake is assembled from Seventh Generation diapers, an organic cotton rattle colored with vegetable dye, and several Burt's Bees baby care products. In case you're wondering, you can even check out how to make a diaper cake. This will take the guess work away and leave you to the fun part!
Sizing: All the diapers in the cakes are size 1 Seventh Generation diapers since this is obviously a gift for when the baby is born. It's even great for the first week from the hospital for moms who are planning on cloth diapering the baby full time.
Value: Of course you wouldn't be buying Seventh Generation diapers for regular use in the form of a diaper cake. But as a gift I think it is pretty great for moms who aren't quite sold on cloth diapers. The 3 tier cake has 40-45 diapers and costs $85. So of course you're paying for the cake (plus organic rattle toy and Burt's Bees skin care products!) since the diapers on their own would cost far less. The 4 tier cake is 70-75 diapers and $105, a week's supply of diapers!
About: Diaper Cakewalk creates a variety of diaper cakes to suit any baby shower theme or gender. Monkeys, bears, frogs, ducks, sheep, elephants? They've got you covered!
