I have been looking for natural alternatives for cleaning stainless steel for a while. I've used some Method wipes before, but they are anything but natural. My fridge, with all the toddler fingerprints on it was looking like it was cheering roadside for a dirt bike race! I couldn't use chemicals on it, my daughter touches it all the time and plays with magnets. Finally, I've found something! The mail man drops off a package and my husband calls out "Looks like you've got a Better Life in the mail!" Me: "What?"
I've tried many natural cleaning products and it's tough because the next one is always better than the last! I love the Better Life line that I was sent, I received the entire product line except the 2am Miracle (with some lovely biodegradable Twist sponges as well). The first item I tried was Even the Kitchen Sink - I had the perfect test for it, the day before I left two dishes heating on the stove and forgot about them! I had a burned on mess on my glass cooktop. Sure, it wouldn't go away without some scrubbing elbow grease, but I was pretty impressed with Even the Kitchen Sink. It was a lot easier to clean off the mess than my usual baking soda paste. Moreover, my 'near-impossible-to-impress' husband absolutely loved it when he cleaned the oven. Only thing, now I have no excuse for not cleaning it, I used to be able to say "Hunny, can you clean the oven? I can't stand the smell of the cleaner!" Now I love the smell :) So I don't mind cleaning it so much.
Next I eagerly tested the Einshine. Love, love love! Finally something that gets my stainless steel clean, shiny, and has a pleasant smell! Lavender and chamomile sure smell better than conventional chemicals. I wouldn't use them normally anyway, never mind when I'm pregnant. Only wish I found this product earlier because our stainless steel has been neglected and there are even rust spots that could have been avoided with regular cleaning! Here is the [embarrassing] before and [lovely] after images of my fridge and dishwasher:
The what-EVER All-Purpose Cleaner was great on the inside of our stinky trash bin. I love the smell of the Clary Sage & Citrus! That's another thing, as nice as it is to have scent free green cleaners - I was starting to miss things with some smell. I love that these are scented with essential oils! They are so much more pleasant than artificial fragrances. This cleaner comes in scent free as well if you like.
I have yet to try all the products, but I am very impressed so far. The Einshine non-toxic stainless steel polish and Even The Kitchen Sink gentle scrubber are keepers for sure and something I will buy in the future when I run out simply because I've never tried something so non-toxic and effective.
