Cloth diapering is not an easy feat if you've never done it. So I imagine for moms who aren't familiar with it - cloth diapering while traveling must sound pretty heroic and outrageous! Well, guess what - we've finally tried it and it isn't a scary monster with ten legs. It takes a little extra planning and depending on the type of vacation you are taking it is completely manageable. It worked perfectly for our short road trip and one week at a vacation rental without a washer and dryer.

ReplyDeleteHaha! Yes, handwashing can be fun while on a trip! I did this for a few trips within a three week period, and while I had a meltdown at the very end, it's definitely doable over a short period of time. :) Kudos to you for having a successful trip!
ReplyDeleteAs a soon to be first time mom, who plans on cloth diapering, I really appreciate this post! I will keep your tips in mind when hubby and I go travelling with baby. THANK YOU!

We travel to my parents house often and these tips will be quite helpful (although I do have a washer and dryer readily available there). I particularly liked the tip of having hubby help w/ his strong hands. Nothing like appealing to the ego lol.
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought about the wood leaving stains! Thanks for that tip!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like these tips might benefit me in general, as I don't have a washer and dryer, so I'll be making quite a weekly (or more) trip to the laundromat.
ReplyDeleteThat'll be tough, but hopefully worth it in the end!
