I still remember that precious photo of me holding my first newborn baby girl, glowing and smiling, adorned in a drab baby blue hospital gown. Yeah, the latter pretty much ruined the shot. Sure it isn't a necessity, but a cute hospital gown is nice to have and you'll be thanking yourself later when you look at the photos. Not to mention it can make you feel a little more fabulous than you do right after giving birth!
Chic Mama Boutique sent me one of their super adorable and comfy maternity hospital gowns. Not only is it simply more flattering because of the prints available, but it does not flash your rear at people, and it has easy nursing access with a stretchy elastic top. I later realized that we are having a water birth, but I wouldn't be wearing this pretty thing during the birth itself anyway. This is perfect for the time after you clean up and can snuggle with your new bundle, taking lots of photos (and snoozing). Since we'll be most likely going home within twelve hours of birth, I see myself wearing this a lot at home. It is easy to nurse in, looks great, and will not ruin the photos.
The mother and daughter team at Chic Mama Boutique on Etsy not only carries these cute maternity hospital gowns, but also makes nursing cover ups, baby swaddle pods, matching mom & baby gowns, and car seat canopy/tents.
