My daughter is such a girly girl! She smiles at cute dresses, loves flowers, and of course babies. She always loved pushing her big stroller, though that often gets really uncomfortable. I really wanted her to have a doll stroller of her own and I stumbled upon this little gem by Guidecraft. It is what I wanted when I was little! Thanks to their generosity we got to take this pram for a test ride.
STYLE & DESIGN: I love how sleek and simple this buggy is. It is a classic. We chose the Natural finish, but it also comes in a dark Espresso. The seat is nice and deep and has a cotton/poly blend bedding. Since we don't have a doll yet (I know, sad considering we have a girl!), we put a large teddy bear in it. We attached the handle at the lower setting and it's perfect for our girl. I like that the handle extends far enough so that she doesn't hit the buggy when she walks.
EASE OF USE: This doll buggy needs some assembly, it is really easy though. Sort of like IKEA dummy proof assembly. You'll just need a philips screw driver. It takes about 15-20 minutes without a toddler running around. When you open it, don't be alarmed by the smell, it's just the rubber on the wheels and I also had a piece of paper in there with something printed on it, the ink was a little smelly. The stroller itself doesn't smell at all. Once you're done with assembly it is really easy for a baby to maneuver. I was concerned that it would be hard to turn, but we've had no problems. My fourteen month old can turn the buggy herself. There is a little bit of give on each side of the wheels and it makes it easy to steer in the right direction.
QUALITY & VALUE: This little buggy is extremely sturdy. It would even withstand being played with by my sister's three boys! We haven't used it outside, but it looks like it would be great for your child to use on sidewalks. It is one of those toys that you can pass on from one child to the next and to your grandchildren. The doll buggy costs anywhere from $55 to $75 depending on where you buy it. I think that is a fair price for this classic toy that will bring hours or creative play for a little girl or maybe even a boy! Who said you can't put blocks and cars in the buggy instead of a doll, break those stereotypes!
One Eco-Babyz reader will be a proud owner of the Guidecraft Doll Buggy in their choice of finish!
