HOMESCHOOL

We are life-long learners and our goal as parents is to keep alive the naturally present love of learning in our children. We are here to help them discover what they are passionate about and what they are good at so that they do not go through life making a living doing something they loathe. We are here to provide all the necessary resources for them to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. Oh, and if you're interested in our thoughts on socialization, this author sums it up well.

Is it easy? Just like parenting, of course it isn't. But we love being with our kids and watching them flourish, we don't want to miss these moments. While the reasons we chose to homeschool are numerous and the list is too vast, this sums it up well (and this is right on). We're only getting started and eventually I will write up our own reasons for homeschooling. Although we were pretty set on homeschooling even when I was pregnant with our first child, this amazing book really sealed the deal, I highly recommend it if you're exploring homeschooling or have reluctant relatives that don't 'get it'.

  1. I started home schooling my kids this year. My 8 year old was diagnosed with ADHD and we had so many problems with the school. His last day of school one of the teachers actually ripped the back of his pants by grabbing them and pulling back on his pants. I said, I am done. Our life is so much more peaceful now.

    1. Wow, sadly I hear horror stories every day about reasons parents have pulled their kids out of school. That's great that you could do that, my heart aches for the thousands of 'labeled' and mistreated children in public school who don't have another choice and will be scarred for life.

  2. God has called our family to homeschool and we've known this since he called me to be a homemaker in 2012. My son is now 2 and our daughter is to be born this February! I love reading homeschooling blogs and blogs from God-centered families :)

    1. That is wonderful Alisha! That's how we felt as well, before we had kids we decided I would stay home and homeschool. But that doesn't mean I don't work :) From home I do social media management and photography, loving both and being home with kids - although it is a tough juggle. I'm hoping to roll out more homeschooling posts in the near future as we delve into it more. Congrats on your pregnancy, I hope you have a wonderful birth! :)
