Among the great companies that are in jeopardy are Maine Toys, Wood Toy Shop, and Tree Hollow Toys, as well as hundreds of other small businesses. This means less choices for the eco-concious parent and child, as well as less jobs for those relying on their skill and trade to make handmade toys. Act today to make a difference, go to the Hand Made Toys Alliance website and write to your United States Congress Person and Senator to request changes in the CPSIA to save handmade toys!

New Consumer Product Safety Rules Will Make Handmade/Natural Toys Illegal
It is very sad indeed that the government organizations charged with the safety and welfare of the public are directly involved with legislation that is against small businesses and toy diversity in the marketplace. The Hand Made Toys Alliance summarizes what the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) will do, essentially it will make handmade toys from the US, Canada, and Europe illegal in this country because such small businesses would never have the money for toy testing as large companies and corporations. Today, there are 65 days left until mandatory toy testing certification is required of all toy manafacturers, big and small.
